Edward "Eddie" Virgil Castile Jr.

Edward "Eddie" Virgil Castile Jr., 51, peacefully passed away January 24, 2024, at Community Hospital.  He is survived by his loving mother, Esther Bowersox; sister, Sandra (Todd) Becker; sister-in-law, Pat Castile; niece, Samantha (Rolando) Garcia; nephew, Robert May; great- nieces, Alainnah, Evalyse, Nyellie; nephew, Angelo; and many cousins. 

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Petra Aguilar; father, Virgil Castile; brothers, Roger and Steve Castile; and sister, Fay (Don) Cheek.

Eddie was a lifelong resident of Hammond, Indiana. He loved to watch wrestling, listen to music, spend time with family, and an avid Cubs fan. At most family gatherings he would have at least one conversation about the Cubs; whether it was previous games, memorable plays, stats, or favorite players, he always discussed his Cubs team. Eddie had overcome a lot during his life, including several health issues, but always remained positive. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. He may be out of sight, but always in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2024, 9:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery Gary, Indiana 46408.
