Klorya Jeanette (Price) Matthews

Klorya made her debut into this world on February 2, 1992, to her proud parents, Alvin and Annette Price. She attended Maywood Elementary School and Eggers Middle School, where she earned educational honors. Klorya graduated from Bishop Noll High School in 2010. She then continued her education at Purdue Northwest Indiana, earning a B.S. in Psychology, and was to receive her Master's degree in Psychology on May 4, 2024. Her family will accept her degree posthumously at Purdue West Lafayette next month.

While earning her degrees, Klorya worked as a supervisor in the laundry and housekeeping department at Great Lakes Healthcare Center. During this time, she met and fell in love with Kyle Matthews. Kyle and Klorya established their martial union on September 14, 2020.

Klorya enjoyed sports. She was an avid golfer. She also played basketball, tennis, soccer, and participated in numerous track and field events. Klorya enjoyed music, reading, and most of all, traveling with her husband and friends.

Klorya accepted Christ at the early age of 6. She was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She participated in the Youth Choir, she was a Candy Striper, and a Junior Nurse. Klorya was also a Youth Director in the New Era District. She served as Youth Secretary for the Midwest Region. She also attended the Progressive National Baptist Convention where she participated in the Youth Choir.

Klorya depated this world alongside the love of her life, Kyle on April 10, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her loving paternal grandparents, Alvin and Dorothy Price; maternal grandmother and namesake, Cloria Jeanette Collins.

Klorya leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted parents, Alvin and Annette Price; sisters, Antionette Taylor, Ashley Price, Tyra Price, and Ariel Watts; her loving Mother-In-Love "BFF", Miss Jeane... Kroger Jeane Williams; her sister-in-law, Nina Greer, playfully known as "sis-in-law", aunts, Valerie Price, Althea Collins-Wright, Arlene Lopez, and Angelia Collins; uncles, Kirk (Ruth) Price, Eric Price, Cedric (Jessica) Price, and Andrew (Anjanetta) Collins, Jr. and a host of in-laws, other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2024  5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Homegoing Services Friday, April 19, 2024, 11:00 a.m. from First Baptist Church 626 West 21st Avenue Gary, Indiana 46407. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart, Indiana.
