William Winchell Jr.

William (Bill) Winchell Jr., age 79, years old, of Gary, Indiana, passed away comfortably at his home on April 15, 2024.

Mr. Winchell held four degrees, Mechanic, Machinist, Welder, and Pilot. Bill worked many years at Amoco and BP as an Iron Worker and Piledriver. Later in his life he worked as the Supervisor at Millennium Park. As William got older, he enjoyed flying his B-152 in his free time. He was Treasurer of the union until his retirement. After retiring, he spent his time working on his motorcycle and bargaining with cars on Craigslist. His famous words were "What A Deal ".

William was preceded in death by his daughter, Serena Winchell in 2009 and son, William Dean Winchell in 1966.

Mr. Winchell is survived by one sibling, Ronald Winchell, Sr. of San Jose Negros Oriental, Philippines; two children, Tammy Winchell of Whiting, Indiana and Christopher Winchell, Sr. of Gary, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Tyler Winchell of Texas, Rachel (Edgar) Oliva of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brandon (Kimberly) Winchell of Lake Station, Indiana, Anna Aucoin of Lexington, Kentucky, Laura Winchell of Whiting, Indiana, Seanna (Robert) Anderson of Gary, Indiana, and Christopher Winchell, Jr. of Gary, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Brandon, Jr., Hunter, and Lillith.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2024, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment Elmwood Cemetery Hammond, Indiana 46324.
