About Us

When Robert Williams, Sr. established the Ridgelawn Funeral Home in 2002, he changed the way people think about funeral service as it is today.

Mr. Williams saw an opportunity to relieve grieving families of the difficult burden of preparing a funeral service. In establishing Van Gard Vault Company in 1951, purchasing Fern Oak Cemetery in 1975, Ridgelawn and Mount Mercy Cemeteries in 1980, Calumet Pre-Need Company in 1982, Williams Florist in 1990, re-establishing Williams Casket Company in 2002, and the building of the Ridgelawn Funeral Home in 2002, all the necessary funeral arrangements can be conveniently prepared from on location.

Mr. Williams created an atmosphere of peace and beauty. He installed soft lighting, quality furniture, tapestries, potted palms and art.

In this serene yet dignified atmosphere, Robert Williams, Sr. instilled in his staff an understanding of value of courteous service and attention to detail, provided to all client families regardless of social or financial standing, religion or ethnicity. this is the guiding precept of the Ridgelawn Funeral Home staff.
