Charles E. Teamer, Jr., 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2019 with his loving wife by his side. He was born June 11, 1954 in Gary, Indiana to Charles E. and Elnora (Somerville) Teamer, Sr. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife and long-time sweetheart, Michelle Teamer; three sons, Charles (Nzinga) Teamer III, Micah (Sheily) Teamer and DeAndre Teamer; step-children, Kristian, DeShawn, Tyesha and Marci; grandchildren, Jordan Kirkland, Micah Teamer, Jr., and Mia Teamer; two brothers, Luster (Lenora) Terry, and Timothy Teamer; god-daughter, Davian Bennett; other relatives and dear friends. A special thanks to Larry Whitley and Tony and Fred Johnson who were very helpful during Charles illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Elnora Teamer, Sr. and his brother, David Teamer. Charles was a 1973 graduate of West Side High School in Gary, Indiana where he was very skilled in baseball and football. He worked at U. S. Steel as a Switchman and Diesel Locomotive Operator and was a bus driver at Gary Public Transit Company for several years. He also worked at CSX Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer until his retirement in 2012. Charles loved football, baseball and politics. His favorite pastime was listening to his “oldies but goodies.” He was a little league baseball coach for many years. Charles had a great love for his wife and his family. Charles will be dearly missed by his loving family and dear friends.
