Emma Jean Osborne

Emma Jean Osborne, age 87, of Crown Point, Indiana passed away November 11, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Wade Osborne, by her daughter, Caroletta Mae Denny, parents Carl and Janet Slayton, her sisters Wanda Lou Slayton, Geraldine Zickafoose and brother Robert Slayton.  Emma is survived by her daughter Lois Borrmann (Jeff) of Crown Point and son, Jerry Wayne Osborne of Valparaiso, her six grandchildren, Ricky Simpson (Marion), Adam Hunt, Crystal Fabricius (Robert), Jon Denny, Kyle Osborne (Christiana) and Jackie Osborne, also her five great grandchildren, Presley and Aubrie Simpson, Genesis Hunt and Avah and RJ Fabricius.  Emma comes from a very large family including her brothers Vernon, Marshal, and Michael Slayton, sisters, Eileen Mullens and Anna Mae Duncan.

A firm believer in God, Emma Jean taught Sunday school for 27 years.  For some 30 years she spread the word of the Lord in nursing homes, preaching, singing and playing the piano.  Her faith guided her life until the very end.

Viewing will be Monday, November 18th from 4pm - 8pm at Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, Indiana with funeral services to be held Tuesday, November 19th at 11:00am.  Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana.
