Jeraldine Newbern, 78, of Gary, Indiana, passed away at the Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana on Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was born to Sam and Ella (Battle) Newbern in Gary, Indiana on February 9, 1941. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Bradley Newbern; brothers, Arthur Newbern and Derrick (Stacy) Newbern; sisters-in-law, Sharon Newbern and Elvei Newbern; uncle, Jesse (Irma) Mask; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ella Newbern; husband, L. Gibbs; brothers and sisters, Gladys Gooch, Samella Davis, Victor Newbern, and Bruce Newbern; sister-in-law, Arlene Newbern. Jeraldine graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959. She was a devoted servant of Jehovah God and she looks forward to being awakened in Paradise. She leaves many friends and loving relatives who will treasure her memories. She will be dearly missed by all.
