Kent Robert Shropshire

Kent Robert Shropshire, 61, of Merrillville, Indiana passed away at the Methodist Hospital, Southlake Campus on Sunday, March 3, 2019 with his loving family by his side.  He was born February 23, 1958 to Clyde and Betty (Farmer) Shropshire in Hammond, Indiana.  On July 1, 2010 he married the love of his life Felicia (Johnson) and she survives.  He is also survived by his son, Robert (Nela) Shrophire; step-son, Shame’ar Johnson; granddaughter, M’la Johnson; mother-in-law, Clara Johnson; brother and sisters, Kathy Fedanzo, Craig Shropshire; other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Betty Shropshire; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.  He loved his music, his family and his home.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with the funeral services to begin at 12:00 p.m.  All services will be at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, Rose Room, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, Indiana 46408.  Kent will be dearly missed by his loving family and dear friends.
