Miguel A. Santiago, Sr.

Miguel A. Santiago, Sr. 88, of Hammond, IN, passed away May 15, 2019 at the Community Hospital in Munster, IN.  He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on May 10, 1931 to Alcadio Gomez and Monserratte Santiago.  He married the love of his life at age 26, Carmen M. Santiago on June 21, 1957 and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2019.  He is survived by his seven children, eighteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, ten siblings, and other relatives and dear friends.  He loved to create and invent things.  As a mechanic he would fix people’s automobiles to supplement his income, however he also was known to donate his time and services.  He loved horseback riding, cars, amusement parks, cars, elephant ears, cars, to dance, cars, and family get-togethers.  He was a devoted Christian and had a great sense of humor.  The family will receive friends and family on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 – 219 980-5555 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN Miguel will be dearly missed by his loving family and dear friends.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
