Nelson F. Santiago

Nelson F. Santiago, 60, of New Haven, Indiana, formerly of Gary, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 23, 2019.  He was born in Gary, Indiana to Francisco and Yolanda (Tamaya) Santiago on December 18, 1959.  He leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, Suzana Santiago, Ana (Jose) Santiago-Vega, Leticia Lessner, and Victoria Santiago; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Yolanda Santiago; and brother, Jerry Santiago.  He graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary and served in the U. S. Army.  He was employed at DHL Supply Chain – Excel in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He loved maintaining his yard, especially his flowers.  Family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with family.  He also loved to cook.  He was an avid animal lover.  He was the best big brother anyone could wish for.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, Indiana 46408 – 219 980-5555.  Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.  Nelson will be dearly missed by his loving family and dear friends.
