Ressie Echols

Ressie Echols was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 11, 1926 to the late Robert and Mary Jamerson.  She surrendered her life to the Lord at an early age and was a long time member of St. Mark M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Arthur Smith and later, Pastor Jim Smith.  Ressie worked as a school lunch matron at Alaine L. Locke Elementary School for many years and was well known in the community.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James.  She leaves to cherish her memory her five children:  James Maurice, Larry (Carlita), Cheryl (James) Hickson, Ronald (Ava) and Patricia Echols.  She also leaves two sisters:  Marie Penilton and Dorothy Hicks both of Chicago and one brother, Robert Jamerson of Chicago Heights, Illinois; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, many former Locke School graduates and life long friends.
