Vanessa Knight

My beloved wife, Vanessa Knight was born on September 13, 1957 in East Chicago, IN.  She celebrated her Homegoing to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 9, 2019. Vanessa was the eighth child of Henry and Lillie Pearl Fountain.  She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of  1976 and a former employee of UPS Freights in Schiller, IL.  Vanessa was a beloved wife for 23 years of marriage, a best friend, and soulmate to her loving husband, Larry Bernard Knight for 36 years.  She affectionally called him, “Big Daddy” and he called her, “Nuke MaMa.”  Vanessa Knight leaves to cherish her memory; a loving and devoted husband, Larry Bernard Knight (Big Daddy); five brothers, Oliver Fountain, Henry Fountain, Jr., Kelton Fountain, Kendall Fountain, and Terrance Fountain; five sisters, Mary Taylor, Patricia Clifford, Sharon Duca, Henrietta Murphy and Alberta Murray; one sister who preceded her in death, Roberta Lyles; a host of family-in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, classmates and others.  Visitation will be on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Johnnae Gullett-Diaz, officiating at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 2600 West 5th Avenue, Gary, IN 46404.  Burial will be at the Gary Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Gary, IN.  Vanessa Knight will be dearly missed by her loving devoted family and precious friends.  God Grant Her Eternal Peace.
