Adolfo Acevez

With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Adolfo "Papi" Acevez, who left this world peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of ninety-seven years old.

A gentle, humble, and steady presence, Papi lived his life with quiet strength, kindness, and a devotion that touched everyone around him. 

Papi found joy in life's simple gifts- listening to music, taking long peaceful walks, dancing, and helping with yard work, where his patience and care were always evident. At the age of eighteen, he was employed at Inland Steel for thirty-six dedicated years, earning the respect of colleagues and friends through his unwavering work ethic and reliability.

Family was the heart of Papi's world. He was the proud father of four daughters; Gloria Acevez-Vellios, who preceded him in death; Mary (Eric) Yarbrough; Dalia (Alfred) Salinas; and Lupe "Pinky" Acevez.

Papi's love continued to flourish through many generations. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each bringing him joy, pride, and countless cherished memories.

His greatest and lifelong love was his beloved wife, Guadalupe (Mami), who preceded him in passing. Their bond was a testament to dedication, partnership, and love that remained strong and steady throughout their lives together.

To those who knew him, Papi was a quiet but comforting presence- gentle, dependable, and endlessly loving. His legacy lives on in the music he enjoyed, the steps he danced, the yards he tended, and the deep love he showed his family everyday.

May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to all who hold him in their hearts.
