Basilia Castellanos

Mrs. Basilia Castellanos (CG), was born May 7, 1919, to Claro and Marina Gonzales.  She passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at the blessed age of 101 years old.  She was such a wonderful woman who loved God, gardening (especially roses), and helping family members, friends, and even strangers, if they were in need of anything.  For many years she and her husband, Larry owned a local grocery store.  She is survived by two sons, Gavino (Hedie) and Victor (Johanna) Castellanos; two brothers, Julian and Paul Gonzales; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and dear friends.  Preceded in death by her parents, Claro and Marina Gonzales; son, Tony Castellanos; daughter, Ramona Castellanos; grandchildren, Randy and Marina Castellanos; three sisters, Petra Gonzales Segovia, Frances Gonzales Guerrero and Cathren Gonzales Colon; three brothers, Joseph, Jesse and Michael Gonzales.  Visitation Tuesday August 25, 2020, 10:00am - 11:00am with Funeral Mass at 11:00am from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.
