Bernice Bradley

Bernice Bradley was born on April 18, 1936, in Sardis, Mississippi.  She is the daughter of Clemmie and Clara Jones.  On May 14, 1964, she was united in holy matrimony with her sweetheart James H. Bradley, in Gary, Indiana, and on June 13, 1971, their son Shawn was born.

Bernice was a 1955 graduate of Roosevelt High School, and a member of Village First Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana.

Anyone who knew Bernice always called her by the nickname "Bunny".  One of her favorite hobbies was reading the Harlequin  Romance series.  She read hundreds of books over the years and she also donated these same books to local libraries in Gary, Indiana.  Bernice touched the lives of so many people, and she was loved very much by many.

Bernice Bradley of Gary, Indiana, departed this life on Monday, August 16, 2021, at the age of 85 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemmie and Clara Jones, her brother, James E. Jones, and her son, Derek D. Bradley.  

Bernice leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, James, and her son, Shawn.  She also leaves to cherish her memories to her nieces, Kimberly, Pamela, Debra, LaTanya, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday August 23, 2021, 10:00 am-11:00 am from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana.  Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.
