Bill D. Knowles, USMC veteran, honorably discharged on January 12, 1956, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, at home in Gary, Indiana at the age of 87.
Born to Edith Gray and James Knowles on September 22, 1936, in Carbondale, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Charity G. Knowles (nee Lockwood).
He is survived by family members, Janice Rutledge, Becky Knowles, Patricia Wallace, Dean Wallace, and Debra Ketchum
Military graveside services will be held on September 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro, Illinois.
