Brian Keith Brown

Brian Keith Brown AKA "Keith", age 65, changed time for eternity on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, with his family by his side. Keith was born on July 7, 1957, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Ida and Lewis Brown.

Keith accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hammond under the leadership of Rev. Dr. A.R. Burns.

He was educated in the Hammond Public Schools and was a 1975 graduate of Hammond High School.

Keith truly loved his family and always had a joyful demeanor regardless of his situation. He NEVER complained about anything; not even the debilitating disease that prevented him from doing many things for himself. Keith never wore the title of disabled or handicapped, he would say "I just do things differently than everybody else" , that was his SPIRIT, and he meant it !

He was the family "HERO" as we were witness to the challenges and obstacles he faced on a daily basis. We learned so much from him. He had an over abundance of pride and no one could out talk him, NO ONE !  A true storyteller at heart, giving every single detail of the events that at some point you'd forget what he was talking about.

Keith was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ida T. Brown; brother, Lewis F. Brown, Jr.; maternal grandparents, George and Ocie Harris; paternal grandparents, John and Viola Brown; brother-in-law, Winfred Robinson; sister-in-law, Angie Brown; mother of his children, Veronica Michael, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Keith's memory will be forever cherished by his seven children, Nicole (Matt) Wagner, Elizabeth Michael (Barry Meeks), Eliza Michael (Jared Collins),  Jonathan (Amy) Brown, Jennifer Michael, James (Michelle) Michael, and Jessica Michael (Marquial Starks); beloved father, Lewis F. Brown, Sr.; four brothers, Patrick Brown, Freeman "Todd" Brown, Eric (Lisa) Brown, and Robert Brown; two sisters, Vicki Robinson, and Avis (Samuel) Robinson; twenty-four grandchildren, Brady, Aubrey, Atlas, Mason, Maddex, Remii, Xavian, Vincent, Maximus, Jace, Klaus, Jaden, Evan, Leah, Dylan, Breanna, Valerie, Kaitlyn. Madelyn, Lilly, William, Jameer, Dwayne, and  Anray; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation Thursday, June 15, 2023, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with Homegoing Services 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery Griffith, Indiana.
