Brian Dewaine Johnson

Brian Dewaine Johnson, 32, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at home.  He was the significant other to Amanda Jones.  They shared two beautiful daughters, Ariana and Aubree Johnson.  They were together for 11 years.  Brian was born in Hammond, Indiana and grew up in Gary, Indiana.  He was the son of Betty Stewart-Johnson and Ernest Johnson II.  He attended Grissom Elementary, Lake Ridge Middle School, and Calumet High School.  He was recently employed in the restaurant industry as a cook.  He was a member of the Black Oak Pentecostal Church where he volunteered at the food pantry to provide for his community.  He enjoyed pizza and cheeseburgers.  He loved clean immaculate shoes. He always hated to be dirty.  He loved to wear long sparkling chains and he was the class clown when he attended school.  He will be remembered for his hearty chuckle.  He was always a jokester and easy going.  Brian is survived by his mother, Betty Stewart Johnson; father, Ernest Johnson II; brother, Bradley (Lisa) Johnson; sister, Natalie Johnson; partner, Amanda Jones;  two daughters, Ariana and Aubree Johnson; paternal grandmother, Patricia Johnson; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Christine Stewart;   three nephews, Julian, Phillip, and Jackson; many aunts; uncles; and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ernest Johnson; great-grandmother, Glenda Mounts and aunt Melissa Smith.  Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2020, from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm with Funeral Services at 1:00 pm from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN. Interment private.
