Charlie Curtis, Jr., 67, of Laporte, Indiana, was born in Dundee, Mississippi and passed away on September 24, 2024, in Michigan City, Indiana.
Charlie was preceded in death by his only son, Gregory Curtis; beloved parents, Everlean Williams and Charlie Curtis, Sr.; sister, Josephine Buchanon; and sister-in-law, Nina Moss Curtis.
He leaves behind his loving daughters- Fav 5, as he would affectionately call them: Cynthia (Adrian) Muniz, Adriane Curtis, Yvette Curtis, Yvonne (Breon) Walker, and Charlotte-Angel Jefferson; siblings, Deloris (Richard) Merriweather, brother and best friend, Willie-Ricky (Matoya) Curtis, James Williams, Jerry Williams, Shirley Williams, Linda Williams, Michael Curtis, Pat Moore Hunt, and Bobby Holman, a host of other siblings; grandchildren, Cameron (Nataija) Crenshaw, Shedrick Gerald James, III-PJ, Alexis (Edward-EJ) Parham, Jazlyn Muniz, Adrian James, Kaden Johnson, Zelyah Barahas, Romeo Rojas, Julissiah Garcia, and Chase Hardaway; great-grandchildren, Kamiyah Crenshaw and Arianna Parham and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charlie was married to Tommie (Frank) Bentley for 17 years and together for 20 years and remained life-long friends.
Charlie will be deeply missed by his daughters, siblings, grandchildren, and friends. This loss has impacted his family as he was pivotal in bringing the family together with family reunions. Anytime you called him for help or support, he would always make himself available. He was a loving provider and was generous with his giving. Charlie invited family and friends to celebrate his life while he was still with us and was surrounded by his loved ones upon his passing. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and made peace with his passing. May God grant him eternal rest.
