Che Newton Jones

Che Newton Jones was born September 28, 1969, in Gary, Indiana to the union of Edd W. Jr., and Mary F. Jones. He was the oldest of three children. Che attended Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama, and graduated in 1988.

Che married Wanda Tenese Johnson on June 26, 1999. From their union, Che inherited his first daughter, Tenese, from Wanda's previous marriage. On September 19, 2007, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Cheyenne.

Che loved sports and being around family and friends. It was a regular occurrence to have a house full of people with Che working the room and hassling and jiving with everyone. He was the life of the party and all those who came in contact with him would all say he made them feel welcomed and comfortable.

Che was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edd W., Sr., and Clinton James and Ledresser Dubose, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife, Wanda; two daughters, Tenese (Anthony) Robinson and Cheyenne; his parents, Edd, Jr., and Mary Jones; mother-in-law, Gail Dubose; siblings, Jovan (Kisha) Jones, Kellee Jones, Warren Steven (Angela) Jones, Terrance (Erica) Logan, Edward (Gisselle) Jones and Teresa Wilson; grandchildren, Ameris, Anthony, Jr., Ashanti, and A'Legend Robinson; and a host of other cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Visitation Saturday, June 8, 2024, 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. with Homegoing Services 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment with Military Honors at Evergreen Memorial Park 3815 West 39th Avenue Hobart, Indiana 46432.
