Daniel Spencer, Jr. was a loving son, brother, and father who departed this life on Monday, November 18, 2024, at his home. Daniel was born on February 18, 1980, in Merrillville, Indiana, to Daniel Sr. and Janice Spencer.
As a child, Daniel played softball at South Glenn Park Little League, under the coaching of his father. He was a graduate of Merrillville High School and was a member of the football and wrestling teams. During Daniel's senior year he was awarded the 1998 IHSAA heavyweight wrestling state champion. At graduation he earned an athletic scholarship and continued his education at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri ,where he received his BA degree in Business Management.
He confessed Christ at an early age while attending Christ Center Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Roosevelt Dixon.
Daniel started his career with Enterprise Car Rental and was presently employed as a Sales Executive at Angi.
Daniel is preceded in death by his devoted father, Daniel Spencer, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Willie and Maggie Spencer; maternal grandparents, Braxton and Mildred Pinkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Janice Spencer of Merrillville, Indiana; brother, Derron (Lisseth) Spencer of Goodyear, Arizona; son, Tristan Daniel Spencer of Raleigh, North Carolina; godmothers, Joanne Turner of Aubrey, Texas, and Marsha Goudeau of Burleson, Texas; and a host of uncles; aunts; cousins; friends; and a lifetime friend, Delrick Williams.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2024, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. with Homegoing Services 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park 3815 West 39th Avenue Hobart, Indiana 46342.
