Donald Lee White of Munster, Indiana, passed away on November 13, 2023. He was born in Princeton, Indiana to the late Helen and Leonard White.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, attended Indiana University and a retiree of U.S. Steel. He was a faithful member of Ridge United Methodist Church.
An avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and Los Angeles Dodgers, WIN or LOSE ! Donald loved chocolate covered cherries, diet pepsi, gyros, enchiladas, fried chicken, and any food that had sugar on it or in it. Known by his family as: "The Junk Food Junkie."
He enjoyed his nephews and niece when they came to Camp Princeton. He loved playing basketball, watching the History Channel, watching the Three Stooges with his son, working in the garden with his wife, pulling up flowers when they were done blooming, saying they all looked like weeds. Favorite movies and TV shows; Harry Potter, Sergeant York, Star Wars, Wheel of Fortune, keeping Up Appearances, and Andy Griffith. Donald enjoyed being with his family, friends and neighbors.
He leaves to cherish loving memories, to his wife of 56 years, Sonia; son, Douglas; sister, Patty Barrett; two sisters-in-law, Sadie Kritikos and Pat Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation Saturday, November 18, 2023, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Military Honor burial from Ridgelawn Cemetery.
