Dwain C. Wooley, Sr., a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana. He was born August 10,1958, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Herman and Margie Wooley.
Dwain was baptized at a young age and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church during his earlier years of life. He obtained an associate degree from Purdue University and pursued his passion for mechanics by attending trade schools. He began his career at Burgers Supermarket and later dedicated 34 years to American Airlines, where he retired as a Mechanic Crew Chief.
His enthusiasm for cars and hot wheels were reflected in his prized possession, a 1970 SS Chevy Chevelle, which he built with passion and precision. Dwain was a well-known figure in the Hammond community, admired for his expertise and warm personality.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Margie Wooley; son, Aaron S. Wooley; and his grandparents.
Dwain leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Deborah Wooley; sister, Genetra Hickson; two sons, Ryne S. Wooley, Dwain C. Wooley II; three adored grandchildren, Learon, Noreal, and Tyron Wooley; beloved uncle to Antoinesse Wooley and Denzel Lewis; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Dwain will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of hard work, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
