John Will Thomas, Jr.

Mr. John Will "Popeye" Thomas, Jr., passed away at age 81.  He was born November 12, 1938, in East Chicago, In. to Rose and John Will Thomas, Sr.  "Popeye" was father to two daughters, Mavis (James) and Karla, two sons, Maximillian and John Will III, grandfather to six.  He is survived by two sisters, Harriet (Russell) Pillow and Geraldine (Edward) Prentice and will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  His parents, Rose and John Thomas, Sr., brother, Harry Thomas Sr., and son, John Will III, preceded him in death.  Feel free to wear your best hat and join us in honoring "Popeyes" memory.  Those who wish to make a donation to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation may due so in memory of "Popeye".

No farewell words were spoken.  No time to say goodbye.  You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why.
