Juan Morales Obituary

Juan Manuel "Manny" Morales, age 59, of Crown Point, Indiana passed away on November 24, 2021.  Juan was born on January 26, 1962, in East Chicago, Indiana.

Juan cherished being a devoted husband and father who always put his family first.  Spending his evenings indoors, watching movies, and enjoying a frozen Home Run Inn pizza with his family  were among his favorite things.  You could often find Juan outside tending to his vegetable garden in the summer, canning his produce in the fall, tinkering in the garage in the winter, or lending a hand at his childhood church, Saint Ann Church, where he graciously volunteered at the food pantry.  Juan's enduring faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident throughout his life, as Juan never complained of life's challenges, but instead, openly praised God and thanked Him for all his blessings.

Juan was a proud Indiana University Northwest alumnus, earning his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 1987.  Juan pursued a career in law enforcement, serving as a Diversion Investigator with the Drug Enforcement Administration for 30 years.  Juan was a hard-working, selfless, and genuine husband, father, and friend who had the gift of story-telling, passionately listening, and helping anyone in need.  Juan loved hosting holiday parties and family celebrations, always making sure he had a fresh pot of coffee percolating as he encouraged everyone not to be shy about having a second plate.  Juan's ability to make people laugh and feel comfortable will be forever missed.

Juan is preceded in death by his mother and father, Olga Morales and Victoriano Morales, and his brother, PFC Victor Hugo Morales, U.S.M.C.

Juan is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Carrie Morales; two daughters, Victoria Morales and Alexis Morales; six siblings, Ramiro (Cheryl) Morales, Jenny (Tom) Holaday, Irma (Jeff) Rutkowski, Raquel (Brian) Rotz, Angel (Ruth) Morales, and Olga Thupvong, and other family and friends who cherish him deeply.

Visitation for Juan will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.  Private funeral services for the family will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.  Both services will be held from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road,  Gary, Indiana 46408.  Juan will be laid to rest at Ridgelawn-Mount Mercy Cemetery 4401 West Ridge Road Gary.

Juan's daughters praise him for being the best dad they could have asked for and will forever cherish Juan's sense of humor, everything he taught them, and for the life that he gave to each of them.  Juan was deeply loved and will be endlessly missed.

A Bible scripture to encompass Juan's philanthropic spirit.  JAMES 2:18   "Now, someone may argue, "Some people have faith; others have good deeds."  But, I say, "How can you show me your faith if you don't have good deeds ?  I will show you my faith by my good deeds."
