Judy Marie Sumner

Judy Marie Sumner, age 78, passed away August 16, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 15, 1944, in Martin Township, Illinois to Roy and Margaret DeLong.

Judy had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior many years ago, and faithfully served Him. She loved her family with all her heart as well as her church family, reading her Bible, and watching soap operas. When her children were school-aged, she was the taxi for her children as well as all the neighborhood children.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories: her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Jerry Sr.; 4 wonderful children, Violet (James) Rutherford, Beverly Sumner, Jerry (Debbie) Sumner, Jr.; and Tammy (Tom) Taylor; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her furry "Best Friend" Rocky; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amber Hinton and great-grandson, Dustin Guzman

Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2022, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with Funeral Services 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Garden Schererville, Indiana.
