Leonard E. Martinez

Leonard E. Martinez, 64, a lifelong resident of East Chicago, IN., passed away August 22, 2022.  He was born on May 3, 1958, in East Chicago, IN. to Louis and Juanita Martinez.

Leonard was a retiree of the City of East Chicago, where he worked faithfully as a Code Enforcement Officer.  He was a talented handyman capable of fixing everything from cars to your household plumbing, and always willing to help a friend with a home project.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis L. and Juanita C. Martinez, and baby sister; Jennifer (Darwyn) Abernathy.

Leonard is survived by five siblings; Dennis (Cyndy) Martinez of Hilo, HI, Mary Alice Martinez, Patricia Martinez, Laura Martinez, Jacqueline (Simon) Martinez-Quintanilla; and a host of nephews, and nieces. 

Leonard will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022, 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.  Burial Ridgelawn Cemetery.
