Mamie Louise Mason was born on May 27, 1950, to Montez and Elsie Williams. She did her formal studies and education in the Gary School Corporation, attending Tolleston Middle School and Froebel High School.
At an early age she confessed her life to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Once Mamie became blind, she attended Arkansas School for Blind and Visually Impaired. At school, she learned how to accept and properly care for herself, her new life changes, and live her life productively. There Mamie made plenty of friendships and adored meeting new people. She joined several groups and associations for the blind, and eventually joined the NFB (National Federation for The Blind). While being a member she was nominated to be the President of the NWI Chapter for Indiana.
Mamie worked at Tradewinds for countless years and was delighted to work and even picked up a hobby of sewing. Mamie was very family oriented, and they all meant the world to her. She enjoyed cooking different occasions and events. Mamie was reunited with her dad at the age of 45. She made it her business to look after and care for him. Mamie loved God and cared dearly for her church family. She was a faithful member of Life Center Church of God in Christ, where she grew fond of the Pastor T.L. Barrett. Mamie was loved by many, but will be missed by so many more.
