Marvin E. Brown, age, 54, was born to the union of Willie Clarence Brown and Stella Louise Brown in Gary, Indiana, on July 2, 1967. He was the eldest of three siblings. He was a 1985 graduate of Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana. He enlisted in the United States Navy in the Fall of that year. During his tour of service, he traveled the world abroad.
Marvin was shy in nature, but always had an abundance of friends during his childhood and along his military journey. He was a long-term employee of over 20 years with Fed-Ex in Oakland, California.
He was a dreamer and a creative soul. His first passion was music. Growing up, it wasn't uncommon to find him beating on any and everything with his favorite pair of drumsticks. He not only played instruments, but he also wrote music and loved to sing. He was a one-man band, and his bedroom was his studio conveniently named "Bedroom Studios". He enjoyed coming home to Gary to visit family and eat good food prepared with love. He was always regarded by everyone as an all-around down-to earth and nice guy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Clarence Brown; his maternal grandparents, L.C. Johnson and Flomer Dennis; his paternal grandparents, Willie Red Whitson and Jimmy Mae Brown; aunts, Mildred Louise Randolph, and Shirley Diane Johnson.
Marvin leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Stella Louise Brown; his siblings, Willie and Karen Brown; his uncle, Charles Johnson; aunts, Carolyn Cooper, Denise (James) Moore; his nieces and nephew, a host of cousins, family, friends, and loved ones.
