Mary Lopez

Mary Lopez was born in East Chicago, Indiana on April 13, 1951, to Francisca Maldonado and Hilario Lugo Alicea. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Gerson Lopez on September 4, 1976; they were married for 48 years.

Mary was a source of warmth, laughter, and inspiration. Known for her beautiful voice, giving praise to the Lord with her husband, Gerson. Their days were filled with love, laughter, and dedicating their lives to the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerson Lopez; her parents, Francisca and Hilario Alicea; and brother, Hilario Alicea 

Mary leaves to cherish years of memories to her three children, Norma (Phillip) Ledet, Gerson, Jr. (Kristy) Lopez, and Alvira (Mark) Lopez Jones; nine grandchildren, Jasmine, Candace (Cam), Phillip, Jr., Nicolas (Mackenzie), Alexandria, Nehemiah, Mathias, Angelina, and Julia; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Ella; eight siblings, Candida, Carmelo, William, Gladys, Rosa, Jose, Sonia, Ruth and Virginia; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. 

Though Mary's melody has reached it's final note, the music of their lives plays on in the stories, smiles, and love they leave behind. Their legacy will live on in the hearts of family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, April 27, 2026, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with Funeral Services 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment following at Ridgelawn Cemetery 4401 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.
