Michael Montgomery was born December 14, 1952, in East Chicago, Indiana to Robert and Elizabeth Montgomery. He was the 3rd of 7 children.
He was united in holy matrimony to Pamela Pickett in 1978. Their union was blessed with 2 wonderful daughters.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior as a young adult at New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Clarence Lobdell.
Michael received his formal education in the Gary Community School Corporation and graduated from Roosevelt High school in 1970.
Michael was a very hard worker, and soon after high school he was employed by U.S. Steel where he worked for a number of years. He later worked for Gary Housing Authority and Gary Schools until his retirement in 2013.
Michael was a strong leader with a big heart. He was always there to help family and friends when needed. he loved to talk, and knew no strangers. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
Michael was called to eternal rest by the Lord on October 12, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Montgomery; brother-in-law, Dwight Mathews, Sr.
Michael leaves a legacy of love and precious memories to his beloved wife, Pamela Montgomery; his devoted son, Michael (Tikia) Montgomery, Jr.; two loving and devoted daughters, Alaina (Luber) King, and Alicia (Ryan) Johnson; 3 sisters, Sandra Mathews, Sharon (Frank) Sutton, Sheila (Brett) Cook; 3 brothers, Kenneth (Carolyn) Montgomery, Robert Montgomery, Jr., and Leonard Montgomery; 8 grandchildren, Michael Montgomery, III, Marques Montgomery, Tyana Montgomery, China Montgomery, Trinity Johnson, Jacob King, Isaiah Montgomery, Elijah King; and a host of other family members and friends.
