Mildred Louise Randolph was born on January 10, 1947, to Flomer and L.C. Johnson in Learned, Mississippi. Mildred graduated from Froebel High School in Gary, Indiana in 1965 and later studied for an Associates degree at Indiana University Northwest. Mildred served 26 years at the Adam Benjamin Jr. Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic, retiring as Lead Medical Support Assistant, Eligibility. Upon retiring she indulged herself in reading, gardening, doting on her grandchildren, and Amazon shopping. Mildred was a wonderful, sweet, and caring woman who departed this life on April 11, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Flomer Johnson; sister, Shirley and her partner of 35 plus years, Oliver Fountain. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her two sons, Daryl and Erick; her grandchildren, Corey and Shelby; her two daughters-in-law, Erika and Mattie; special sisters, Stella Brown, Carolyn Cooper, and Denise (James) Moore; special brother, Charles Johnson, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Interment Friday, April 16, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. from Ridgelawn Cemetery. Family will proceed promptly at 9:00 a.m. from the Ridgelawn Cemetery main entrance. May God bless the Randolph families.
