Novella (Love) Parker

Novella (Love) Parker, age 88, was born to John Fanion and Darrast Bell Love on January 24, 1935, in Opelika, Alabama. Peacefully, she passed away on August 8, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. 

Preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Johnnie James (Carrie) Love, Mary Lois (Hudson) Thornton, Jessie Lee (Tommie) Baker, Leonard Andrew (Annie) Love; son-in-law, Victor Newbern.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Ronald L. Parker and Sharon Newbern; five grandchildren, Terry Porterfield, Ryan (Janee') Newbern, Ronda Parker, Ronisha Parker, and Robyn (Will) Dowd; and a host of family and friends. 

Novela retired from U.S. Steel Corporation in 2003, after 32 years of dedicated service.

Novella was a woman of fortitude and grace who unequivocally loved her family. She unselfishly gave to anyone without reservation. She will be missed by all whom she touched.
