Paula Almodovar

Paula Almodovar, age 80, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away on March 19, 2024. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She adored her family and always put them first. Paula worked several jobs throughout her life, but her greatest joy was spending time with family, enjoying the special moments together and going to the casino.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Pablo and Amalia ( Acevedo) DeJesus; her beloved husband, Valentin Almodovar; and son, Hector Almodovar.

Paula leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories: three daughters, Elsa (Nolan) Cole, Maria de Lourdes Covarrubias, Mildred Almodovar; and son, Valentin Almodovar, Jr.; two sisters, Inocencia Lugo and Carmen Iris De Jesus; nine grandchildren, Anais, Miguel, Amarilis, Brandon, Carmelo, Paulie, Jeremy, Rudy, and Cristal; seventeen great-grandchildren; two special sisters-in-law, Olga Carrion and Santy Cintron; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

 She was such an amazing woman and will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with an additional Visitation Friday, March 29, 2024, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Both services held from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408. Burial Ridgelawn Cemetery 4401 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.
