Peter Lee Jackson, Jr.

Peter Lee Jackson, Jr. was born on January 28, 2001, at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.  PJ was born to Takelia A. Mixon and Peter Lee Jackson, Sr.  PJ attended and graduated from Aspire Charter Academy, along with Gary Lighthouse Charter School in Gary, Indiana.  For high school, PJ attended and graduated from Morton High School in Hammond, Indiana with his Core 40 diploma.

PJ was a devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to those that knew him.  If you were a friend to PJ, you were his family, and he loved his family unconditionally, with the loyalty that only you could dream of.  Those who knew PJ can attest that he loved a good casual outfit, joggers, a t-shirt, a pair of dope sneakers or slides, and a hat.  PJ's personality would warm a room when he walked in.  It was hard not to like or love this irreplaceable guy.

PJ was called to his eternal resting place on Sunday, September 5, 2021.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.  PJ leaves to cherish his memory, a loving mother, Takelia (Keya), father, Pete Sr., sister, Daijon, grandmother, Sharon, uncles, Tyrese, K.D. (Craig), Darion, and William.  His aunts, Sonuquea (K.D.'s wife), Marla (Darion's wife) along with a host of beloved relatives and friends.

PJ is preceded in death by his grandmother, Catherine Jackson of Chicago, Illinois, and his great-grandfather, Virgil Mixon, Sr. of Forrest City, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.
