Raymond L. Miles lived a colorful life brimming with love, kindness, and joy. His presence touched countless hearts and he will be profoundly missed. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Raymond was born on June 2, 1955, from the union of mother, Lois T. Tillman and father, Jessie Miles in Benton, Louisiana. He worked at many places in Louisiana before relocating to Gary, Indiana to be with his brothers, Henry, David, and Earnest. After moving north to Gary, he was employed by the Gary Parks Department until his health began to fail.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, David, Earnest, and Bobby.
Raymond was very well cared for at home by various healthcare services and some of his family members, his sister, Ruby Stewart-Mabon; niece, Robyn Stewart; and brother-in-law, Gregory Mabon
Survived by his only sister, Ruby Stewart-Mabon; niece, Robyn Stewart; and brother-in-law, Gregory Mabon; and other family members and dear friends.
With grateful hearts, the family would like to acknowledge and thank these healthcare professionals who cared for Raymond by giving him whatever his heart desired and by being present for him- Dr. JoseLuis Agusti; aides, Mark Vaughn and Dorita Linguay; therapist, Joe; social worker, Michelle; and many other nurses.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from Living Grace Church-Nazarene 2708 West 78th Avenue Merrillville, Indiana 46410. Immediately following services, the family would like to invite everyone to join them in the lower level for fellowship and shared memories.
