Raymond G. Moritz, Jr., 56, of Merrillville, passed away surrounded by family on April 2, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Wilma Moritz. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Raymond (Amanda) Moritz of Lubbock, TX, Brittany (Jason) Stearns of Chesterton, IN, Amy (Chad) Fennell of Ontario, CN., Tabitha Thiel, Melissa Thiel, and Adam Moritz, all of Griffith, IN., brother, Randy (Debby) Moritz, grandchildren, Raymond, Emily, Leah, London, Ellie, Lyle, Elias, Grant, and Sora. Ray was a longtime truck driver before retiring as a machinist supervisor from IHB Railroad. Ray was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, and his Chevy Silverado. One of the greatest joys of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. Ray will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, quick wit, and care-free nature. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held in his memory at a later date.
