Rebecca Barbara Elizabeth Martinez

Rebecca Martinez, age 53, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

She was born April 23, 1969, in Blue Island, Illinois.  The eldest daughter of the late Richard Martinez and Caroline Martinez.

Rebecca loved flowers, her dogs, and her garden of tomatoes. Most of all, she loved her family, and had a very generous heart.  She loved to tease and was full of laughter.  She was a daughter of God and will be truly missed.

Preceded in death by her father, Richard Martinez, and brother, Jason.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her five children; Heather, Paul, Brian, Renee, and Kyle, mother, Caroline Martinez; three sisters, Carrie, Jennifer, and Raquel; brother, Sgt. Michael Martinez; fiance', Robert Shelton; and four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation Monday, August 8, 2022, 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. with Funeral Services 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. form Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.  Burial Ridgelawn Cemetery immediately following.
