Richard Bartell

Richard Allen Bartell, Jr. was born on April 19, 1985, to Beverly Sumner and Richard Allen Bartell, Sr. He was a loving son, big brother, uncle, and friend.

He was always the life of the party and loved life. His family meant everything to him. He could always make you smile with his big "SILLY" self. Richard liked to play games on his phone and kept up with the news of the world. He was a manager at Casey's and was very proud of his job; he loved his job, employees as well as the customers. 

Preceded in death by his sister, Amber Hinton; grandmother, Judy Sumner; grandfathers, Jerry Sumner, Sr. and Dickie Bartell; uncle, Jeffery Bartell; aunts, Denise and Heather Klemoff; and nephew, infant Dustin Jr. 

Richard is survived by his mother, Beverly Sumner; his father, Richard Bartell, Sr.; brothers, Mark Bartell, Gary Bartell, Bryan Fraker, Jr., Jessie Bartell, and Doug Bartell; sisters, Ashley Schmidt, Destiny Fraker, and Faith Bartell; in-laws, Susie Bartell, Alannah Bartell, and Dustin Guzman; grandmother, Sharon; grandfather, Frank Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends; he also leaves behind his 2 cats whom he loved and cared for deeply.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations made in honor of Richard. Thank you and we love each and everyone of you.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 1:00p.m.-3:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.
