Roosevelt Jolly, age 76, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021.
He was born to Wallace Sr. and Nancy Jolly in Boligee, Alabama on July 14, 1945.
At the age of 23, Roosevelt enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam War as a Weapons Specialist, and highly valued his service to his country. He ventured into several different business ventures during his life; working in the steel mill and owning a few businesses..
Roosevelt is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Sr. and Nancy Jolly; brothers, Wallace Jr., James Jolly, George Jolly, and Alonzo Jolly; sister, Sarah Winters; and stepson, Antoine Taylor.
Roosevelt is survived by his loving wife, Sonya Haggard-Jolly; his children; Stephanie Worsham, Katina (Rodney) Jolly- Terry, Roosevelt Jolly, Jr., Lisa (Joe) Jolly-Massey, LaTanya Jolly, Janita (Tevin) Jolly-White, Brandon (Kesi) Jolly, Javon (Sabrina) Jolly, and Jerron Jolly; 7 stepchildren, Antonio, Antoinette, Atalanta, Aaron, Andrew, Asia, and Adden; siblings, Nancy Reed, Napoleon Jolly, Hattie (Joe) Wade, Frederick Jolly, and Everett Jolly; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2022 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. with Homegoing Services 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana. Interment with Military Honors at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, Indiana..
