Rose Myrtle Burrell

 Rose Myrtle Burrell was a resident of Gary, Indiana since 1951.  She was the youngest of four children born to George Gibson and Eleanor Gibson-Jefferson.

She was a graduate of Tolleston High School class of 1958. She attended City Methodist College and Indiana University, where she received a degree in Interior Design. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, George Burrell, in 1960. Two daughters were born of that union.

She retired from Joyce Sportswear, where she served as a credit manager for 15 years. After retirement she volunteered for many organizations including hospital sickle cell, the heart association, and community and political organizations. She was a devoted member of St. Timothy Community Church where she served as a member of the Sanctuary Choir for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Burrell; brothers, Robert L. and William T. Gibson; and sister, Jean Steele.

Rose leaves loving memories to her devoted children, Pam (Billy) Brown and Cassandra Harbin; grandchildren, George J. Brown, Deanne Nicole Brown, and Jordan Harbin; great-grandchildren,, Ayden Kaigler, Montana Boykin and Elyanna Rose Brown; sisters-in-law, Lee Ann Laster and Dorothy Boyce; nephews, Darnell (Cynthia) Laster and Othell Laster; and other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Visitation Tuesday, March 21, 2023, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. from Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana 46408.  Interment private.
