Shannon A. A. Walker

Shannon  A. A. Walker, affectionately called "Lady" or  Ms. Lady, age 55, gained her heavenly wings in the late evening of June 30, 2021, at Methodist Southlake Hospital.

Lady joined eternity with her first born child, Christopher "Tuffy" Youngblood, Jr.;  mother, Johnnie M. McNeil; father, Lawrence Walker; father of children, Christopher Youngblood, Sr. and other beloved family.

She was a life-long resident of Gary, Indiana, who accepted Christ at an early age, later rededicating her life to Christ as an adult.  Shannon was a proud graduate of Lew Wallace High School's class of 1984.  Additionally, she earned a dual Associate and Bachelor degree.

Miss Lady was a graceful quiet storm with a soul of service to others from cooked meals and overnight stays, to babysitting children and braiding hair.  She also enjoyed being a caretaker at Care Kids on 49th Avenue, helping Mrs. Youngblood cater to Ribs on the Run, and working with great folks at Paylow, Strack & VanTil and Carson's.

Shannon will be missed immeasurably by her earthly angel and daughter, Channon "Candy" Youngblood, as well as bonus children, Christopher, Chance, Chrishanda and Taniya Youngblood; four sisters, Beverly (Rickey), Shaunetta, Lawrenna and Theresa; two brothers, Larray and Anthony; aunts, Patricia (Jose), Sharon, Shirley, Sheila and Connie; Uncle Michael and a host of family and close friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, 9:00 am- 11:00 am, with Celebration Of Life immediately following at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 1545 Waite Street in Gary, Indiana.  Rev. Royce Thompson Sr. officiating.  Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith, Indiana.  Services entrusted to Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana.
