Tomas Rosa Obituary

Tomas Rosa of Hobart, IN, (formerly of East Chicago) passed away on May 22, 2020.  He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.  A retiree of Inland Steel after 42 years of dedicated employment and was also an employee of Heraeus Electro-Nite Co, LLC.  He was preceded in death by his father, Damaso Rosa Hernandez, mother, Aurora Rosa Santiago, brother, Raul Froilan Rosa Santiago, daughter, Shirley Perez.  Tomas is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cecilia; loving son, Rafael (Melba) Cruz of Merrillville, IN.; loving daughter, Judith Cruz of Hobart, IN.; grandchildren, William (Melissa) Alcocer, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA., Cecilia (Peter) Moore II of Merrillville, IN., Amanda Cruz of Valparaiso, IN., Mariel Cruz of Merrillville, IN.,; great-grandchildren, Julian and Gabriel Cruz, Peter Moore III,; sisters, Ana Marta Rosa Santiago, Alicia Nieves Rosa Santiago, Iris Rosa (Artis) Santigo; brother, Francisco Ramon Rosa Santiago; special niece, Annette (Rafael) Rosado of Portage, IN, and many other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Tomas was a Jack Of All Trades, electrician, and auto mechanic, he would help anyone who needed a helping hand with repairs no matter what it was.  He loved dancing, fishing, camping, and would take any opportunity to do so.  He loved playing the lotto with hopes to win big and travel the world.  Papa Tom, as his great-grandchildren called him, will be greatly missed by all who loved him. May God bless the Rosa families. Services for Mr. Rosa will be private. The family will have a Celebration Of Life for Mr. Rosa at a later date.
