Walter M. Wesolowski, age 83, of Manteno, Illinois, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. He was born January 19, 1938, in Posen, Illinois, to Walter and Helen Wesolowski. He was married to Arlene (Carr) Wesolowski on October 28, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois.
Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Arlene ; his parents, and four sisters, Dolores (Joseph) Watrobka, Sylvia (Edward) Sobiski, Geraldine (Richard) Myroup, and Helen (Robert) Paliga.
Walter is survived by his children, David Wesolowski of Valparaiso, Indiana, Dawn (Randall) Schaaf of Crown Point, Indiana, Scott (Kim) Wesolowski of Dyer, Indiana, and Sandie (Tony) Warwick of North Richland Hills, Texas; grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Jordan (Douglass), Lisa, Lori (Michael), Andrew, Bailey, and Samantha; two great-granddaughters, Kendra and Noelle.
Walter was a proud Marine, serving his country from 1957 to 1960, as an MP in the First Battalion. Walter retired from Brinks, Inc., after 36 years of service. Walter was an active member of the Tornados, Inc. for over 60 years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. During his life he enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially cruises, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Walter was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, Illinois.
Visitation will be Friday, December 10, 2021, 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Ridgelawn Funeral Home 4201 West Ridge Road Gary, Indiana with Visitation on Saturday, December 11, 2021, 9: 00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church 500 Northgate Drive Dyer, Indiana. Interment to follow services from Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois.
