Willie West

 Willie West, age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Methodist Hospital – Southlake Campus with his loving family by his side. He was born to Jake and Luvenia West on March 24, 1941 in Chicago, IL. Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jake and Luvenia West; daughter, Isabelle; siblings, Mary and Floyd. Willie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years of marriage, Shirley Adamson West; children, William, Sr., Kenneth (Angela), Brian, Sr. (Marcella) and Eric, Sr; 25 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sibling, Jake; special uncle, Alfred; special friend, Larry Teamer; other loving family members and precious friends. Willie was a faithful member of First A.M.E. Church for over 50 years. He retired from Inland Steel with 39 excellent years of service and he retired from Gary Public School System with 15 years of service. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Teams and he was his boys “SUPER HERO.” Willie was a loving and kind family man who loved playing cards at family gatherings. Visitation will be on February 1, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Chapel at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 (219) 980-5555.
