YVONNE (DOUMA) STADT, age 81, of Gary, IN went to meet her Savior face to face on Monday, September 5, 2022. Beloved mother of David of Orlando, FL, Kari (Dave) Routledge of Commerce Township, MI, Heidi (Bob) Butts of Mantua, OH, and Daniel Stadt of Oswego, IL, dear grandmother of Abby (Joel) Israel, Casey (Melissa) Routledge, Jessi (Kyle) Sonnenberg, Tori (Andrew) Hile, and Erin Routledge, great grandmother of Aidan Israel, and sister of Margie (Fred) Lantz of Allegan, MI. Preceded in death by husband of 52 years, Richard Stadt, daughter in law Margie Stadt, parents Alfred and Esther Douma, brothers Phil and Paul Douma.
Vonnie’s life was one of service to God, family, church and community. She volunteered in a myriad of ways, taught for 20 years in the Lake Station school district and loved everyone who crossed her path well.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10 at Bethel Church, 10202 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastors Steve DeWitt will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Church (address above) or online at bethelweb.org. Please note ‘Missions’ for the designated fund, as Vonnie and Dick were longtime supporters of missions trips and missionaries.
